On our next Saturday meet, 3rd May 2014, Tony will show you how to play Eclipse. Sign up if you want to learn and play it.
One of the many benefits of our club is that you can play longer games that normally don’t get time at home. You can arrange with other players to start in the morning, all knowing that it will take hours to complete the game. Tony is bringing in his copy of Eclipse on Saturday so you can learn it from scratch and play a whole game.
Tony says “This is a fun 4X game (explore, expand, exploit, exterminate) for up to 9 players, which though long, is very intuitive. On Saturday the 3rd of May at 11:00, Tony Palmer will show anyone interested how to play. The game will be focused on those who have never played before, with the aim of having fun whilst learning the game. It takes 30 mins per player, plus probably an extra hour for rule explanation and time lost working things out. Please let us know if you are interested in playing, as we may organise a special room, if lots of folks want to play. If you want to play a non-human race and have never played before, please come a bit early so you can look at the alien races, whilst Tony sets up the game.
Hope to see some of you on Saturday.”
We’re aiming to start the game at 11am, and you could be playing for maybe 5 hours (with a break for lunch of course). One member has already bagged a spot. If you definitely want to try Eclipse, get in touch by the usual methods (email is best). Otherwise, get in by 10.30am and let Tony know. If you’re unsure, get in by 10.30am anyway and Tony can give you a brief run-down.
