double whammy at the RI – final friday 31st august 2012 & saturday 1st sept 2012

We’ve decided to go for a world record boardgame session this weekend (no we haven’t). This week, the club meets on Final Friday evening and the next day all day Saturday (that’s true). So we’re going to stay in room 1 all night (no we won’t) and continue playing right through to dawn (no we won’t) and on to the next day (no we won’t). So bring your thermos of coffee and sleeping bag (don’t bother) and stock up on amphetamines (that’s allowed) and get ready for a monster session (go home). You’ll have to find your own hiding places (good luck with that) or you might be chucked out (guaranteed).

If you want, you can go to the Railway Institute on Friday 31st August 2012 from 5pm to 10pm, go home afterwards, then return at 10am on Saturday for another go till 10pm (that’s more like it).

Here’s a curious thing. Somebody wisely suggested that maybe people think that they’re supposed to stay all day. They might feel it’s not worth going in for just a few hours, or not feel comfortable if they leave while other people stay. Just to be very clear, once you’ve checked in with Robert and paid your dues, it’s perfectly fine for you to do what you want. If you just want to play a couple of games and go home, that’s fine. If you want to eat lunch out and come back in the evening, that’s fine. If you want to stop all day, or just come for the evening, that’s fine. Everybody’s different and nobody expects you to stay all day. But do come along if you just want a couple of games, we really want to see you in BM!.

If you haven’t been in for a while, just drop back in and see us one time. Come for the evening meets if you can’t make a Saturday. Please stay in touch, we want to see you now and then.
