Busy week with a games session tomorrow evening and all day on Saturday. Both at the Railway Institute on Queen Street in York, just a minute from the railway station. Wednesday 4th July 2012 is from 5pm to 10pm and Saturday 7th July 2012 is from 10am to 10pm. Both meetings in Room 1.
Our last meeting on Saturday was very crowded and we appreciate this was not good. We’ve raised this with the RI manager but the situation is not simple. BM! is one of many groups using the RI and we have to accept some restrictions. The club is in an interesting position just now. Attendance has been rising steadily over the past 2 years, but it is still unpredictable. We’re want members to have a positive, comfortable experience. It’s a balance and we can’t get it right all the time.
On a similar note, we only had 10 people attend on Final Friday. Now obviously we don’t get people from Leeds and elsewhere coming over for the evening. But the York members who ask for an evening meet don’t show. The evening meets are quieter, less frenetic than Saturdays. It’s a good chance to learn a new game, and we stay until gone 10pm each session. 5 hours for a quid is exceptionable value. The Saturday meet grows, the evening meet shrinks. Don’t let it wither away.
Finally, whoever took half the pieces out of Puerto Rico, please bring them back.
