Scrabble players assemble! The National Trust runs several historic properties around York, including The Treasurer’s House which sits in Minster Yard (York YO1 7JL) just behind the York Minster. There are very nice tea rooms below the house which serve home-cooked food. Check out the photos below.
They’re organising a special Fun Friday lunch event on Friday 19th November 2010 for Scrabble players. You get to play some Scrabble with nice people, everybody stops and lunches together, then back for more Scrabble in the afternoon. You don’t need to be a Scrabble fiend either to have a nice time there, it’s all very friendly and family centred. Starting at 11am, they’ll wind things up about 2pm.
The whole event, including the delicious two-course meal and drink, will cost £15, and you do need to book in advance. Places are running out quickly, so get your call in now. Because the tea rooms are downstairs, regrettably, there’s no disabled access. You will also get a free ticket to see the Treasurer’s House properly on another day; it’s guided tours only at the moment.
To get your booking, please call 01904 624247 and claim your Fun Friday spot at The Treasurer’s House. Please mention Beyond Monopoly! when you call. Download this PDF to share with your friends.
